●    Rented house

If you are living in a rented house, then it’s time to call the house owner or a landlord. They could help you with a duplicate key and open the door for you and rescue you from this trapped situation.

In many houses, there are back doors from which you can enter the house if they are not locked. There also could be some window from where you can take a change if it is not grilled.

●    Remove the doorknob

Take help from the neighbors and use some sharp things like a screwdriver aur a knife to open the doorknob when you are locked out of your house. After you successfully get rid of this trapped situation, you can again reinstall the doorknob ans use it.

This trick is very common as you use an id card or credit card to open doors. All you yo need to do is to push the card against the lock, and if you listen to a small ticking sound, then you may open the door. However, it does not work for every lock.

●    Break in

When nothing of the above works, then the only option left which is to break into your own house by breaking the lock with some shovel or hammer borrowing from your neighbor. Or you can call a locksmith, and they could break the lock with more delicacy which will cause less damage.
