Shopping for the perfect holiday gift can be stressful. Not to mention, it can also be a financial burden, especially if you plan to give presents to a lot of people. Here is an idea – why not give Christmas cards instead? I am not talking about one of those traditional cards that you can buy in bookstores with generic messages. Read on and we’ll provide you with some tips on how to make an epic card that is sure to be well-appreciated by the recipient.

Make it a Photo Card

Be unique with photo insert Christmas cards and research for Christmas photo card templates if you have no idea on how to incorporate your pictures. The most important thing to do in a photo card is to choose the right picture. This will depend on a number of things, such as your personality and interests or the recipient. Often, a family photo is used. You can also opt for a travel photo or a photo with your pet, among others.

Craft a Message

More than the design of the card, its value lies on the message that is written. While you can always look for Christmas phrases or short Christmas sayings online, a better thing to do is to make it personal. Take some time to reflect on what it is that you want to say. Make sure that it is from the bottom of your heart. When the message is heartfelt, it is sure to paint a smile on the face of the recipient.

Learn Calligraphy

It is not enough that you have the perfect Christmas card messages. The presentation of the message is also important. If your handwriting is not legible, it is better to just print it out. However, if you have a decent penmanship, take the time to learn the art of calligraphy. This way, you will be able to present what you have to say in a manner that is attractive. This will make the card a work of art, a masterpiece that won’t end up in the rubbish!

Invest in your Supplies

The good thing is that the supplies that you will be needing will actually not cost you an arm and a leg. Some of the basics include a paper or blank card, envelope, and a nice pen. Be picky with the pen that you will use, especially if you will be showing off your calligraphy skills. Resist the urge to embellish the card.

Send it Early

Whether it is decorating the house or shopping for gifts, we often tend to get caught in the Christmas rush. When it comes to sending out Christmas cards, make sure that you do it in a timely manner. Send it after Thanksgiving, providing an assurance that they will be received just in time for Christmas.

If you plan to give out Christmas cards this holiday, take note of our tips mentioned above and you will surely nail it like a pro!
